چکیده

This paper investigates situating of ubiquitous computing within our current everyday environments. We describe how tying information to actual physical locations can improve the usefulness of ubiquitous computing environments and promote the use of ubiquitous computing services. It is envisioned that these environments will emerge as a social framework for information distribution, and that this form of interaction will maintain user privacy, provide a new mechanism for social interaction and situate pervasive computing environments in community supportive roles.

An Embodied Approach for Engaged Interaction in Ubiquitous Computing

A particular vision of ubiquitous computing is offered to contribute to the burgeoning, dominant interaction paradigm in human-computer interaction (HCI). An engaged vision of ubiquitous computing (UbiComp) can take advantage of natural human abilities and tendencies for interaction. The HCI literature is reviewed to provide a brief overview of promising interaction styles and paradigms in orde...

A Framework for Evaluating Cloud Computing User’s Satisfaction in Information Technology Management

Cloud computing is a new discussion in enterprise IT. It has already become popular in terms of distributed technology in some companies. It enables managers to setup and run the intended businesses by avoiding excessive spending on computers, software and hiring expert staff, which proves to be cost effective. Cloud computing also helps users pay for the IT services without spending massive am...

Location-Mediated Service Coordination in Ubiquitous Computing

We propose location-mediated service coordination in ubiquitous computing. In the coordination, middle agents determine bestmatched services for a user by considering the user’s location based on location-ontology for ubiquitous computing. Introducing such location-aware middle agents and location-ontology into ubiquitous computing, we can extend application areas of software agents from the In...

Activity-centered ubiquitous computing support to localized activities

This paper presents ActivitySpot, a ubiquitous computing framework for supporting localized activities, i.e., activities strongly associated to a specific physical environment, performed by occasional visitors. The ActivitySpot framework implements an activity-centered approach to ubiquitous computing, by defining a conceptual model inspired by Activity Theory and implementing a software infras...

Designing ubiquitous information systems based on conceptual models

Ubiquitous Information Systems (UIS) support single actors and groups by services over ubiquitous computing technologies anywhere and anytime. These systems require design approaches that keep a holistic view of situations in which single users and groups interact with one another and with accessible services. We introduce and exemplify the Situational Design Methodology for Information Systems...
